How KringP-Cortex Handles Your Data: Private AI, No Third-Party APIs

2026-10-09 · 3 min read · KringP-Cortex

When you hand a diary app your life story, you deserve to know exactly what happens to it. Not a vague "we take privacy seriously" — the actual path your words travel, the actual machines that read them, and the actual companies that never see them. Here's all of it.

What happens when you record an entry

KringP-Cortex accepts three kinds of entries: voice recordings, video recordings, and typed text. Here's the journey, step by step:

  1. Encrypted in transit. Your recording or text travels from your device to our server over TLS — the same encryption your bank uses. Nobody in between can read it.
  2. Stored encrypted at rest. The original recording is stored encrypted on our servers. Recordings live in redundant cloud storage; everything else lives in our database.
  3. Transcribed privately. Voice and video entries are transcribed by our own systems — never sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any third-party AI company.
  4. Cleaned up and indexed. Our systems correct transcription errors, generate a title, detect the mood, and build a search index — so chintu, the in-app assistant, can answer questions from your own entries later.
  5. Available where you are. Because everything lives on our server, your entries are there on the web today — phone, tablet, or computer. The Android app is in private testing. No manual backups, no export-import dance between devices.

What "no third-party AI" actually means

KringP-Cortex does not send your entries to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any external AI company — for transcription, for the chintu assistant, for anything. Your words are processed in our care, full stop.

This is the core difference from most AI journaling apps: they call someone else's API with your diary entries. We don't.

Being honest about what this is not

KringP-Cortex is not end-to-end encrypted. Our server decrypts your entries to transcribe them and to power chintu's search — that's the tradeoff that makes voice transcription and "ask your diary anything" possible. If a product claims end-to-end encryption and server-side AI features, one of those claims is false. We'd rather tell you the truth: your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, processed only by our own systems, and never shared with third-party AI companies.

Your rights over your data

The short version: KringP-Cortex processes your diary privately, shares nothing with third-party AI companies, and gives you full export and deletion rights. That's the deal, in plain language. Now go record something worth keeping.
